Dear Friends of the Gallery,
Here is a reminder of our special event for tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept 
19, 2007:

*Art Criticism -- How Does It Affect Artists and Their Art?*
*7:00-9:00 pm, Wednesday, September 19 at the gallery.*
Reviewers and artists discuss the purpose of critical reviews of visual 
art shows and the role of the critic/reviewer. Noted panel participants:

    * *Jesse Bennett,* jazz musician, music teacher and saxophonist in
      several local groups. Jesse spent his early career performing and
      teaching in Germany and Europe.
    * *Nancy Hasty*, actress, playwright, and acting teache. She is a
      former resident of New York City, where one of her plays was
      produced on Broadway. She now lives in Scranton, Pa.
    * *Deborah Jones*, sculptor and lecturer in art history at Tompkins
      Cortland Community College with a special interest in women and
      minorities in the arts. She is one of the founding members of the
      Greater Ithaca Art Trail.
    * *Frank Robinson*, director of the Johnson Museum of Art on the
      Cornell University campus. He is a man keenly aware of the role
      the art museum plays in the careers of visual artists and an
      enthusiastic supporter of local artists.
    * *Wylie Schwartz*, visual art critic and art historian with a
      particular interest in the "new" and having a balanced perspective
      toward art criticism.
    * *Ben Sherman*, sculptor and member of the State of the Art
      Gallery. Ben is the evening's moderator.
