Annual Juried Photo Show
March 2-April 1, 2007
Opening reception: 5:00-8:00 pm, Friday, March 2

Dear Friends of the Gallery,

March is a big month for photography at State of the Art with the highly 
regarded photo show running all month and a special event devoted to 
photography on March 7.. 

Our *18th Annual Juried Photography Show* opens on Friday, March 2. Each 
year, this exhibition draws photographers from all over this region of 
New York State, filling the two galleries at SOAG with a variety of 
photographic images: -- black & white, color, and digital with a broad 
range of subjects.

There will be an opening reception on Friday, March 2 from 5:00 to 8:00 
pm. At 6:30, this year's prize judge, Laurie Snyder, professor of 
photography and artist's books at the Maryland Institute College of Art 
will announce the winning photographs and award the prizes. -- $500 in 
cash awards and a $100 gift certificate from Ithaca Photo/On Paper 
Printing will be given out.

Special Event: Photo Forum at the Gallery

On Wednesday, March 7, at 7:00 pm, the gallery will host one of its 
three yearly special events, a Photo Forum with three distinguished 
panelists:

    * *Laurie Snyder*, this year's Photo Show judge and a faculty member
      at the Maryland Institute College of Art
    * *Kent Loeffler*, photographic specialist from the Department of
      Plant Pathology at Cornell
    * *Barry Perlus*, associate professor of photography in the
      Department of Art at Cornell.

These three photographers will speak and show examples of their work. 
Those in attendance will have the opportunity to ask questions.  This 
event is free and open to the public.
