Dear Friends of the Gallery,

During the month of September, The State of the Art Gallery will present the
work of current and recent Cornell MFA students. -- twelve young artists
working across a range of studio media including drawing, painting,
photography, printmaking, and sculpture. The twelve artists are Honna Austin,
Nathan Bennett, Maria Louisa Calandra, Ana Carvalho, Erik Den Breejen, Carolyn
Funk, Shea Hembrey, Meredith Nickie, Heather O'Hara, Wilka Roig, Khoi Uong, and
Allison Wermager.

Cornell MFA: Graduate Artists' Group Show will run from September 8 to October
2, 2005. There will be a reception for the artists during Gallery Night,
Friday, September 9, from 5:00-8:00 pm.

The gallery will also present the 3rd in its series of special events entitled
Are You Presentable? on Wednesday, September 14 at 7:30 pm. This discussion of
how artists can best present their works will be led by Buzz Spector, member of
the state of the Art Gallery, Chair of the Department of Art at Cornell
University, and nationally respected artist. He will provide information about
presenting works to a gallery in person, in slides, on CD,and on the internet
This event is free and open to the public. You are welcomed to bring slides,
CD, or small art works for review. Web sites can also be looked at during the
evening.

The Gallery is located at 120 W State Street, across from the State Theater.
Hours are Thursday, 12-6, Friday 12-8, Saturday and Sunday 12-5
