Confronting Tranquility

Yvonne Piburn was featured as the "Artist of the Week" in the Ithaca Journal.
The current world environment is anything but tranquil. Focus on nature, beauty and order is vital to maintaining a sense of balance. In these paintings the quiet matter of retreat multiplies in an attempt to recover peace of mind. The place of tranquil isolation begins to shimmer and reflect and, again, to multiply. Here is an attempt to maintain a balance between inner and outer worlds. Color muted, objects clustered, landscapes of intimate proportion restructure the precarious balance that confronts tranquility.
This exhibit is funded in part by a grant from the
New York
State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program.
