17th Annual Juried Photography Show
Opening reception and awarding of prizes, Friday, March 3,
5:00-8:00 pm
 |
John Ockring, Third Avenue |
Past shows have run the gamut of photographers and
photographic art. The photographers have been both professional
and amateur; young and old; and hail from New York City to Syracuse.
The subject matter of their work is also varied. Some of the photographs
derive from a rich journalistic tradition and document important
and compelling current events, such as war. Others, deriving from
a landscape tradition, show the beauty of the Finger Lakes region
or other lands. Some photographers use the camera in modernist and
post-modernist ways, sometimes creating striking abstract images.
Black and white, color, and digital photographs have graced SOAG
Juried Photography Shows in the past.
Our past is the prologue to the future and we believe
that this year's show, like its predecessors, will present the very
best in photographic art.
Each photographer can submit up to two works; they must be brought to the gallery, with the entry form and fee, on February 26 or 27, following the procedures in the Call for Entries flyer. Please cownload the flyer, read it carefully, and use the entry form at the bottom.
If you have questions not answered by the flyer, please contact Bill Evans, 607-277-7551 or drduckbill@hotmail.com . |
